Please introduce yourself and your startup ArtBook to our readers

The company is originally known as ‘ArtBook, the Platform’, and we would like to call it ‘AbThePf’, is based in Karlsruhe, Germany and was founded by Anuradha Misal and team including, Priyanka Wankar, Dr. Manoj Nimbalkar and Pushpa Pawar.

Anuradha Misal is Software designer and Visual Artist. She has completed her Masters in Free Art at Staatliche Kunst Akademie in Karlsruhe, Germany and Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, India. Priyanka Wankar is our Market product manager, studied at SRH Hochschule Heidelberg, Germany. Dr. Manoj Nimbalkar is our Business developer studied at TUM München, Germany. Pushpa Pawar is our co-founder and advisor and she is hobby artist.

‘ArtBook, the Platform’ is an online platform dedicated to connecting artists, curators, galleries, institutes and art lovers/collectors with each other to facilitate enhanced communication, collaboration and development of opportunities.

ArtBook, the platform will connect artists, curators, galleries and institutes together and bring them all closer to art lovers. This platform will provide an intuitive way to share ideas and to work on joint projects. It will enhance communication and collaboration among various key players in the art world and will simultaneously create better opportunities for all users. Art lovers will have an opportunity to choose art from huge pool of artists, in order to browse and appreciate the artist’s work and even buy the work that they fall in love with.

The platform is designed to be fully inclusive, and therefore supports Hobby Artists as well as Professional Artists.

How did you get the idea to ArtBook?

‘ArtBook, the Platform’ was born out of experience, Anuradha and her fellow artists, curators received over time after graduating from institutes. Many of Anuradha’s peers felt disconnect between the galleries and art lovers and unavailability of platform to showcase their work. This was prominent among the entry level artists! She felt the need of a dedicated platform which could solve this problem.

How difficult was the start and what challenges you had to overcome?

‘ArtBook, the Platform’ is an early stage startup! The list of challenges could be long and we expect it to increase as we forge ahead. The most important challenges we have had faced till now can be broadly categorized into two parts:

  1. Having team members who shares the same vision as that of our startup!
  2. Having the right attitude towards solving the problems for creating right values.

Over short period of time we have managed to gather strong and multi-talented team members who jointly putting efforts in solving the problems to create the right values. Most importantly our current focus is on development of the online platform! We want to make sure that it meets our user’s needs.

We are currently working on developing the platform with our partners and our app will be released soon to our intended users. More information could be found at www.abthepf.com

Who is your target audience?

Our current target audience are early stage artists, curators, galleries, institutes and art lovers/ collectors.

What is the USP of your startup?

‘ArtBook, the Platform’ is dedicated online platform! It is intended to create an impact on user by providing means to facilitate enhanced communication, collaboration and development of opportunities. This in return would create:

  • Exposures to students and early career artists
  • Easy access to marketplace and network building
  • Access to authentic art and upcoming artists by all!

Can you describe a typical workday of you?

Being disruptive and critical to oneself and what we have done till now! Each member is focused on their daily task, review of the same and communicating with each other on daily basis is the key. Currently we are focused on development of the app based on the feedback from our target audiences.

Especially, most of my time goes into communicating with early stage adopters and with team members.

Where do you see yourself and your startup ArtBook in five years?

Our vision is to create the platform for the early stage artists and bring required connectivity among the key players. My first priority is to make sure that we achieve this goal in next two years. We want to make sure that in next couple of years ‘ArtBook, the Platform’ should be the preferred platform by artists, curators, galleries and art lovers/collectors around the globe.

What 3 tips would you give other Start-up founders on the way?

We would like to give following three tips to startup founders:

  1. Organize your ideas into a proper plan, be disruptive! Critical to your own ideas, and adapt the change as you go ahead!
  2. Team is most important part of any startup and we would suggest not to underestimate its importance!
  3. Focus! Do not deviate from your goal. There would be many hurdles you would encounter. The key to maximize the success rate is to minimize rate of failure by proper mitigation actions on risks.
