TimeStatement manufacturer of innovative time tracking solutions
Please introduce yourself and your start-up TimeStatement to our readers!
TimeStatement is a manufacturer of innovative time tracking solutions on the web and in the server / desktop sector.
Our SaaS based time tracking service is ideal for SMEs and large companies, as well as freelancers looking for a modern and intuitive time & attendance / performance recording solution.
How did you get the idea to TimeStatement?
We have worked for many years in the IT project business and have tried different solutions. None of them really satisfied us. For this reason, we started to pour our own experiences and learnings into a new product. Time tracking is often perceived as necessary evil. We want our customers to be able to focus fully on the particular project and not worry about the time recording.
How difficult was the start and what challenges you had to overcome?
There are more than two years of development behind TimeStatement. We massively underestimated the scope of the project. In retrospect, however, we are very happy that it happened, otherwise we would probably never have started the project.
Who is your target audience?
SMEs and Freelancers are the target group of TimeStatement. In particular digital agencies, project managers, consulting firms, service providers as well as architects and lawyers.
What is the USP of your startup?
The USP of TimeStatement is its flexibility combined with simple usability. For example, the customer is able to customize an invoice and its layout much easier and exactly the way he wants it to be. Depending on the needs of the customer, TimeStatement is not only able to track time and expenses but also to generate multilingual invoices and to support international currencies so that invoices are ready to be sent out with just a few clicks. Through the cloud based implementation of the TimeStatement solution, the timesheets and invoices on the web are easy to download and upload anywhere at any time and are ready for editing and entry. Last but not least, all our servers are located in Switzerland. It means all customer data is protected by strict Swiss privacy laws, one of the highest data privacy standards in the world.
Can you describe a typical workday of you?
A typical workday includes waking up early in the morning and brainstorming for any new ideas. A customer-centric approach is the foundation of TimeStatement. After a small team meeting I focus about half of my time on technical tasks related to the software development and the remaining time on marketing and customer service related activities.
Where do you see yourself and your start-up TimeStatement in five years?
There are currently more than 200 million SMEs worldwide. In this regard, we will strongly promote internationalization. We want to become the first address for online time recording and performance tracking systems worldwide.
What 3 tips would you give other start-up founders on the way?
